2011年3月11日の巨大津波から岩手県普代村を守った大田名部防潮堤（高さ15.5m）と普代水門（高さ15.5m）の様子です。 建設する前は「巨大過ぎる」との反対意見も多かったようですが村長の「3度目の津波の悲劇は起こさせない」との強い決意で住民を動かし建設されました。 明治三陸津波、昭和三陸津波では普代村は甚大過ぎる被害を受けましたが2011年3月11日の巨大津波では多少の越水はあったものの津波による被害は最小限に抑えられました。大津波が想定される全ての場所にこのような堤防や水門を造る事は難しい事ですが今後の津波防災を考える上で普代村の例は参考になると思います。 あと多くの書き込み、ありがとうございます。 A view of the Otanabe Seawall (15.5m in height) and the Fudai sluice (15.5m in height) that protected Fudai-mura, Iwate Prefecture from the huge tsunami on March 11, 2011.
