Located in Northwestern Hokkaido, Rumoi sub-prefecture is an extensive coastal area which encompasses eight municipalities; starting with Mashike, Rumoi, and Obira in the south, continuing on through Tomamae, Haboro, and Shosanbetsu, until it ends with Embetsu and Teshio in the north. Grasslands and marshlands, mountains and rivers, farms and orchards; all blend seamlessly to form the natural settings which range along this stretch of the Sea of Japan. Breathtaking scenery, local cultures and a wide variety of cuisine, you can enjoy them at will throughout this varied and bounteous region.
